Thought of the Day: It's true, have free food available and people will come outta the woodwork.

Saturday, myLuc and our friend Shawnna and her roommate Jen attended Eat!Vancouver
Saturday morning I donned my crowd gear. I like to be seen so that if I wander away (which happens often) I can be spotted easily. Red Tank Top, Red "Canadian Girls Kick Ass" Ballcap, Khaki capris and red, yellow, blue, gree, orange purple and blue striped socks. Although to be honest I'm sure my peeps wouldn't get down on the floor to check out everyone's socks to try to find me but hey, I like colour what can I say. So myLuc and I left about 10 Saturday morning, walked to the skytrain.

We got to BC Place about 11 and the lineup was out the door. The smells coming out of BC Place were totally mouthwatering and o'course MyLuc and I had had a little breakfast in case there wasn't anything to eat.

So we headed in, we each received a Food Network bag with the new "Glad Easy Seal" or something like that and walked the gauntlet into the bowels of BC Place. The first thing you noticed was the people, the second was the food smells. All kinds, Indian, Asian, Jamaican, Canadian, BBQ sauce, Pork, Salmon, Garlic..... We noticed that each table had "Taste Tickets" with a certain number 1 or 2. So I ended up buying us taste tickets as well. 20 tickets for $12.

We decided to head left to begin with, I know I know, everyone heads left. *sigh*

There was so much that to describe it I'd be posting for quite a long while and as I post this between dictation tapes from my lawyers you'll only get a little bit.

There were free samples of almost everything along with people in lines to follow up and down the rows so that they could be ensured of getting a free sample. We had like 6 cups of little coffee as the people were either trying to sell their expresso machines or the coffee mate and then garlic, garlic spread, garlic butter, salmon candy, wild salmon, farm salmon, cooking vinegars, chai teas, pasta, pineapple, chocolate, toffee, jellies, curries...I could go on and on.

I ended up buying some wine jelly. I can't recall the name right now but it's like a chardonnay or shiraz or something. Very very tasty.

I also bought a Cobb Grill/BBQ (Cobb /Grills) The salesman was very very good and we all ended up walked away from the stand and then discussing it. MyLuc, Shawnna and I all attend a lot of SCA camping event and it would be quite the thing. You only need 6-8 briquettes, it's only 12lbs, comes with a carrying case, grill and the Eat!Vancouver special was $233 for all that plus a skillet and frying pan.

Yeah I know I know, did I really think it through. Let me tell ya, I used it on Tuesday to make Kebabs and it's Da Bomb! It worked awesome and I'm totally trying to find new grilling recipes.

I totally recommend this event for everyone who likes to eat, cook, drink (cuz yes there was a wine tasting, beer tasting, sake tasting (Myluc was there), cooler tasting) and just overall have a good time.

I hope that your week hasn't been too horrid and I'll post the Wednesday "Administrative Professionals Day" adventures later.

*HUGE HUGS*
