There is long story involved with "Breathe" and "Infinity" and the meanings to both of us and I will post those soon.

The right side is my Girly Girl, Elizabeth's beautiful tattoo and the one on the left is my Infinity symbol.

This blurry tattoo is on my left wrist.

Lovers of the English language might enjoy this.....

How do non-natives ever learn all the nuances of English??? There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.'

It's easy to understand UP , meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP ? Why do we speak UP a and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report?

We call UP our friends and we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.

At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir up trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.

And this up is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP . We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP !

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP , look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions

If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP , you may wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP . When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP . When it rains, it wets UP the earth. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP .

One could go on &on, but I'll wrap it UP , for now my time is UP , so .... Time to shut UP .....!

Oh...one more thing:! What is the first thing you do in the morning &the last thing you do at night? U P

The Old Poodle and the Leopard

A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa, taking her faithful aged poodle named Cuddles, along for the company.

One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, Cuddles discovers that he's lost.
Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old poodle thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep doo-doo now!"

Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat.

Just as the leopard is about to leap the old poodle exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard!

I wonder if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.

"Whew!", says the leopard, "That was close! That old poodle nearly had me!"

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree.
Figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard.
So off he goes, but the old poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard.

The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!

Now, the old poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?", but instead of running.

The dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear.

The old poodle says "where's that damn monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!

Moral of this story....

Don't mess with old farts...age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!
Bullshit and brilliance only come with age and experience.

I am in no way insinuating that any of you are old, some are just more youthfully challenged.

It's been not quite a month since my last posting...well...my last jokes really.

So I'm going to just do a point form mish mash. Ready?

  • I volunteered at the Alcan Dragon Boat festival this past weekend. I was assigned to work on the docks with other volunteers and members of the Vancouver Reserves. I had a blast. There were 197 teams, 4 docks with 4 boats per dock. I was dock #5 and before I had my break 30 boats had been in, loaded and unloaded with paddlers. Each boat held 28 team members. I volunteered for the hours of 630 am to 730 pm. Yup, all freakin' Saturday. The morning I had a slow run but by 3pm I was having a blast. And my team member was awesome! I admit it. I'm a tshirt whore. Volunteer or pay to attend...I have a few tshirts now. I think last count was 7 and it's only June.

  • MyLuc and I are good. Both to freakin' busy to have time for each other but doing good. He's now joined Rock Climbing. It's been two weeks and he's bought the shoes, the chalk, the chalk bag and next is the harness and belaying gear. He's also bought new goggles and balls for both Raquetball and Squash. He had the raquets already.

  • We have a new secretary at work. She's from New Zealand. The turnaround in our office is very extreme. Since i've been here there have been at least 7 secretaries for one set of the lawyers. I've been with my primary lawyer now for 3 years June 1st and had various seconds. I'm on my third one and they share the same first name. So my primary is Tom and my secondary is Thomas.

  • On Friday, June 15th I went and got two new tattoos. On my right wrist the symbol for Infinity. I heard a quote once "Infinity goes in both directions." Now to mean I think that like my Phoenix "rebirth" What goes around comes around. My right wrist is my gramma's wrist. I've worn the blue cancer bracelet that used to grace her wrist since she passed away last August. I am going to have it coloured in the blue of the bracelet and try to incorporate my primary colours of red n' yellow somehow as well. On my left wrist I have the printing "Breathe". This is something that is essential to life and when there is chaos all around you breathing is a must. It also helps to center and balance. In my opinion. My girly girl also had "Breathe" put on her left wrist tho' hers is in pretty fancy swirly script. It suits her as mine does me.

  • I am now helping out my little brother and his boyfriend by cleaning their condo here in Yaletown. Let me tell ya, it's easy peasy. The hardest part for me so far is figuring out wet laundry detergent.

  • The week of June 11th I ate out every day. How horrid is that....seriously. On Monday I went for Italian with my best Strongarm. She won a certificate for 4th place from Eat Vancouver. Tuesday it was sushi with the sis n' law, Wednesday I attended free First Aid/Emergency/CPR training that was provided by the Alcan Boat Festival...I had beef jerky and red bull, Thursday I went for Italian with Girly girl and her new beau and Friday to White Spot for a burger and sweet potato fries. Saturday my girly girl and her beau and I went for mexican and Sunday it was father's day and MyLuc made his corn, there was steak and baked potatoes, asparagus from the grill and salad. And I didn't gain weight. Pretty good I must say.

  • MyLuc's corn is grilled on the bbq then he halves a lemon, places the cut side into a half n' half mix of salt and indian spice n' rubs it on the corn as it comes off the grill. It is so delicious I am not going back to putting butter on my corn...it's healthier but for the salt.

More has happened for sure but that's it for now.

*HUGE HUGS* Thanks for stopping by and to those who have emailed and wondered where I am. I'm here just busy....but I'll blog when I can.

So here it is. May 22, 2007 and I'm already bored of this year. I guess it has something to do with having absolutely no vacation time left. Tho' I really did enjoy Hawaii and the cruise and well Hawaii. I didn't enjoy spending the rest of my vacation in Calgary, in the snow, one week after Hawaii, sitting at my mom's bedside as she recovered from her motor vehicle accident. That was totally not fun.

By the by...or by the way...mom is doing very well. To date she no longer has hard casts, only a 45 degree angled one she must wear 5 to 8 hours a day for her left arm. She has no more stitches. She is still on antibiodics for infection from small stones that are continuing to be found in both hands and left elbow. She has barely a scar from the 32 plus stitches in her forehead. She hasn't yet received the results from her cat scan for her dizziness. She's doing well. Bored because she can't read for long periods, she is a very voracious reader and she can't go for walks with the dog because of the dizziness that may appear at any time.

Since I have no vacation time and MyLuc has a whack but doesn't know what he's going to do this year I made a decision to volunteer for every event that is happening in the summer in the Vancouver, New West area. Or if I can reach it by skytrain or bus...there I be.

So far, I've volunteered at the Start/Finish for City Chase 2007. It was awesome! There were approximately 310 teams. I was doing the registration for S to Z so I got to meet some totally unique, excited, freaked out and very tired people. Sometimes they were one and the same. After the race began the volunteers who remained at the Start/Finish started doing break down to change the area to the Finish Line. I volunteered along with another to go through the registration sheets, prepare a Master List and figure out who was there and who wasn't. It took about 10 minutes. We were quick and made a great team. Unfortunately I missed the after party and the end of the race (see the order of those *grin*) due to the fact I had to be home by 1 and outta the house to go to the mother 'n laws for MyLuc to make dinner. Now don't get me wrong, I had a good time, I just wish I could've found an alternate way to get to Mission.

Next up on the 26th is volunteer orientation for the Alcan Dragon Boat Festival. I'll find out what and where and who...on the 26th.

Also, for those of you who read my rant about MyLuc's ring. It's okay. He now knows how I feel and is totally making a concentrated effort to wear it out.

*HUGE HUGS* Later you guys.

Blog Fodder

A whack of it, all ready and prepared in Word so I could cut and paste and then...nada. No pasting...didn't save it...so you're going to get all the fodder that I had in my head that I had prepared but not in a very in order format. More so just as it comes into my head.

Ready...

I participated in the Vancouver Sun Run. And finished the 10k walk in 1 hour and 50 minutes...by my clock. I finished it though, ran through 34 songs on my Ipod and the last song made me cry as I finished, crossed the line and immediately dialed Strongarm, my fiercest supporter in my goal to complete the Sun Run. The song, "I'm Allright" by Jo Dee Messina. My favourite song and very much appropriate in my mind.

I've joined Curves so that I can participate in the 30 minute track. 24 stations, 30 seconds each and holy moses the time flies. I know that the first stretch to warm up and then the second round, give'em hell for all I've got. I totally like the feeling I have been getting from my body in the doing more than walking and aquasize area of my life.

My goal, closer yet to 200 and maybe below. I've gone from a size 27 to a 14-16 and now just the stupid number...but to me itsa important number.

I joined Facebook and boy oh boy..people that I knew from my pre-95 elementary school and highschool Grades 8 to 10 timeperiod from my hometown of Elkford are reuniting with me. It's weird and strange how time flies and how the reconnection is almost immediate like time hasn't passed too much at all. Very weird. Very Face Crack! Let me tell ya, I have had all the blog fodder prepared, still keep up to date with my blogs but do I have the time to blog...not so much.

Time is weird.

I've had issues with MyLuc and his "engagement ring". Those who've read and followed know that I did the unconventional and asked his parents permission, bought him a ring and asked him. It's very important to me that he wear his ring and I totally understand that he works with some equipment that he needs to remove it. I understand that. What I don't understand is why he a: didn't wear his ring, b: didn't take his ring, c: is embarassed to wear his ring - while at job interviews because he doesn't want to answer questions. I just don't understand this. Do you?

I was so angry when he said this that I said "Give me back the ring and I'll give it to you when we marry...then we can go back to being boyfriend and girlfriend or lovers or...." I ranted I admit but I was very angry. I spent almost $1,000 on the freakin' thing and he doesn't want to answer questions. I just don't understand.

*sigh*

At the same time this is one of our many "discussions" we've had lately. Things keep popping up. For Easter I went to my best friends for dinner, just the two of us. I didn't go the family dinner, she was invited but declined, I didn't want her to be alone so...I went and had a very nice evening with her. He was so angry with me and pulled the fiancee card and said I should be with family. He doesn't understand that she is my family. She was in my life waaay before him and will be as long as we live. He doesn't have anyone like this. He doesn't even have people he hangs out with. It's sad for me for him to be angry about this and it bothers me.

I've decided to seek someone professional to talk with about myself and my relationship and my future. It's now if we marry instead of when and I just don't like that at all.

It's been a very long couple of months.

Sunday Funny

I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in.Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?"I didn't respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal ... Some shopping, cleaning, cooking. After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mommy, where's my washcloth?"

I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it."NEVER EVER GOING BACK TO THAT DOCTOR EVER!!!!!

Life's a Journey, take the Scenic Route !

Cowboy Poetry

I ain't much for shopping,
Or for goin' into town
Except at cattle-shipping time
I ain't too easily found.

But the day came when I had to go
I left the kids with Ma.
But 'fore I left, she asked me,
"Would you pick me up a bra?"

So without thinkin' I said, "Sure,"
How tough could that job be?
An' I bent down and kissed her
An' said, "I'll be back by three."

Well, I done the things I needed,
But I started to regret
Ever offering to buy that thing
I worked me up a sweat.

I walked into the ladies shop
My hat pulled over my eyes,
I didn't want to take a chance
On bein' recognized.

I walked up to the sales clerk
I didn't hem or haw
I told that lady right straight out,
"I'm here to buy a bra."

From behind I heard some snickers,
So I turned around to see
Every woman in that store
Was a'gawkin' right at me!

"What kind would you be looking for?"
Well, I just scratched my head.
I'd only seen one kind before,
"Thought bras was bras," I said.

She gave me a disgusted look,
"Well sir, that's where you're wrong.
Follow me," I heard her say,
Like a dog, I tagged along.

She took me down this alley
Where bras was on display.
I thought my jaw would hit the floor
When I saw that lingerie.

They had all these different styles
That I'd never seen before
I thought I'd go plumb crazy
'fore I left that women's store.

They had bras you wear for eighteen hours
And bras that cross your heart.
There was bras that lift and separate,
And that was just the start.

They had bras that made you feel
Like you ain't wearing one at all,
And bras that you can train in
When you start off when you're small.

Well, I finally made my mind up
Picked a black and lacy one
I told the lady, "Bag it up,"
And figured I was done.

But then she asked me for the size
I didn't hesitate
I knew that measurement by heart,
A six-and-seven-eighths."

"Six and seven eighths you say?
That really isn't right."
"Oh, yes ma'am! I'm real positive
I measured them last night!"

I thought that she'd go into shock,
Musta took her by surprise
When I told her that my wife's bust
Was the same as my hat size.

"That's what I used to measure with,
I figured it was fair,
But if I'm wrong, I'm sorry ma'am."
This drew another stare.!

By now a crowd had gathered
And they all was crackin' up
When the lady asked to see my hat,
To measure for the cup.

When she finally had it figured,
I gave the gal her pay.
Then I turned to leave the store,
Tipped my hat and said, "Good day."

My wife had heard the story
'fore I ever made it home.
She'd talked to fifteen women
Who called her on the phone.

She was still a-laughin'
But by then I didn't care.
Now she don't ask and I don't shop
For women's underwear.

Fantabulous Even!

This long weekend was one of the best ever. Not only did mine begin on Thursday, April 5th at noon when my lawyer headed out of town and left me with very little filing or other work but MyLuc and I had an awesome evening. He decided that he wanted spicy appetizer type thingys for dinner so I got online and pulled out all of my cookbooks so I could amaze him with my creativity.

The first thing I wanted to make was a veggie tray, pretty easy, cut up veggies add dip and away you go. I used premade salad dressing not wanting to make the mistake I did a few weeks ago where I had a very expensive spinach type dry dip and instead of adding plain yogurt added french vanilla. So not the same...really truly.

And then I discovered an awesome Jalapeno Popper Dip. That's right...a chip dip. It so rocks and rolls. I've now made it a twice since Thursday making it my own.

So far the recipe is:

1/2 block of cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup mayonnaise (I used Hellmans)
1 can of green chiles
1/2 jar of sliced jalapenos (I used El Paso)
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (I cheated and bought some)

Mix really well all but the parmesan cheese. Sprinke the cheese on top. Bake at the oven at 350 for 15 min and then broil for 5. Make sure that you check to make sure it doesn't burn.

We picked up blue corn chips and together they absolutely rocked.

And then I found online a spicy appetizer dip. It sucked.

I can't recall what we watched because during the appie dinner MyLuc made some strawberry daiquiris (sp?) and pina coladas...two to be exact...that's what I had. He gave me half of his and yup, I ended in bed by 10. And our blender became a smoker so that was all the blended drinks he could make.

The day I consider my anniversary day. I received Cars for XBOX 360 and CSI Season 5. We headed out about noon to Granville Island, skytraining and then bussing it. We walked around and headed to The Sandbar for lunch. It was awesome! I had water with lime (because I was hung over) and we shared an appie of peeled shrimp in a pepper something dressing in a half a papaya. For lunch I had a spinach salad with grilled tuna. It was so yummy.

Away we went, walking, walking, talking, walking and we ended up at Best Buy. There I bought myself Lara Croft for XBOX 360 and Flight of the Navigator and MyLuc's anniversary gift of a computer hookup thingy for XBOX 360. He also got a gift certificate for books. I don't think he reads enough *grin*

Back home where I napped for a few hours and then to the Giants Playoff Season 1 game. It was awesome. We purchased Giants shirts and wore them and participated in the Wave and all the other screaming and yelling that goes on at games. It was pretty funny.

Saturday, April 7, 2007

Home. We went out in the morning to purchase a new blender. Home we went to veg and veg some more.

Sunday, April 8, 2007

Over to my best Strongarms for an awesome Easter dinner and hang out. She gave me a whack of chocolate goodies and went along with my "Can we watch Goblet of Fire please...yes again..." MyLuc went to his families and came home that night with leftover turkey.mmmm

Monday, April 9, 2007

I stayed home with Dead Like Me Season 2 and my cats. I vegged until about 1 when My Girly Girl picked me up and we did errands and I made dinner of Proscuitto wrapped, herb cream cheese filled cod, with the jalapeno dip, salad and ummm...something else. I made Ambrosia salad from MyLuc's joy of cooking but it sucked. Nuff said.

All in all my long weekend rocked. It was nice and relaxing and needed.

I hope yours was a good one as well.

Thanks to Cooking with Whine for this recipe:

Bailey's Irish Pudding Shots

1 cup cold milk (whole or 2%)
1 cup cold Bailey's Irish Cream or other Irish Cream liqueur
1 (3.9 oz.) box instant chocolate pudding mix
whipped cream

Combine milk and Bailey's in a mixing bowl. Whisk in pudding mix until well-combined.

Quickly spoon into individual 1-oz. disposable shot glasses. Chill at least one hour.

Garnish with whipped cream before serving. Makes 16-18 shots.
On the 6th and 7th of April, MyLuc and I celebrate the anniversary of when we became exclusive. The story is that on the 6th of April 2004 I invited MyLuc out to watch a performance of the Folk Heroes, way back when I used to sing backup and drum the bodhran and was known as Wonder Wench. On the 7th of April 2004 MyLuc invited me out to Osaka Teppanyaki for our very first dinner out.

April 6th 2005 I took MyLuc out to the Revolving Restaurant for dinner. I was so unhappy that he found out where I was going to take him that I almost, almost decided to take him to Subway because he had found out. But I didn't the dinner was also for me. That night as we revolved around we saw partial filming of the Fantastic Four. That was very cool. I also gave him two beginner passes for Windsurfing which o'course we didn't use to July but still...he was very excited.

April 7th 2006 MyLuc took me out to the Bavarian Haus in New Westminster. My memory of this night is receiving my Ipod Nano and discovering Winzertanz. An awesome german wine that MyLuc likes as well. I can't remember what I gave him but I'm sure it was tickets to something...maybe Tom Cochrane.

This year is my year, I can't yet blog where I'm going to take him in case someone tells him but it's somewhere totally new that we haven't been before. We've decided on gifts $100 or under. He knows that as part of the gift we're going to a Chocolate Affair event at Scienceworld on April 28th. Because I needed to ask in case he had other things planned.

This year my planning has kinda sucked. I purchased tickets to see Jim Belushi and didn't tell him. He wanted tickets to Tom Cochrane. They were the same night. Needless to say thanks to My Girly Girl she helped me sell the tickets to Jim Belushi and her coworker had and awesome time and...he went to Tom all alone. I also tried to book us his Aunt's condo in Whistler with a day of skiing. Needless to say that we're not doing that...but that's part of another "family" type rant blog.

We have two Anniversary dates. Not the first day we met but the first time we both consider becoming exclusive. When we marry waaaay away...we'll have another date I think. The day we marry.

What do you consider an Anniversary date?

And for post #250...

Bet you have trouble reading all this you will be laughing so hard....

I never dreamed slowly cruising on my motorcycle through a residential neighborhood could be so incredibly dangerous! Little did I suspect.

I was on Brice Street - a very nice neighborhood with perfect lawns and slow traffic. As I passed an oncoming car, a brown furry missile shot out from under it and tumbled to a stop immediately in front of me.

It was a squirrel, and must have been trying to run across the road when it encountered the car. I really was not going very fast, but there was no time to brake or avoid it -- it was that close. I hate to run over animals, and I really hate it on a motorcycle, but a squirrel should pose no danger to me. I barely had time to brace for the impact. Animal lovers, never fear. Squirrels, I discovered, can take care of themselves!

Inches before impact, the squirrel flipped to his feet. He was standing on his hind legs and facing my oncoming Valkyrie with steadfast resolve in his beady little eyes.

His mouth opened, and at the last possible second, he screamed and leapt! I am pretty sure the scream was squirrel for, "Bonzai!" or maybe, "Die you gravy-sucking, heathen scum!" The leap was nothing short of spectacular...

He shot straight up, flew over my windshield, and impacted me squarely in the chest. Instantly, he set upon me. If I did not know better, I would have sworn he brought 20 of his little buddies along for the attack.

Snarling, hissing, and tearing at my clothes, he was a frenzy of activity. As I was dressed only in a light T-shirt, summer riding gloves, and jeans this was a bit of a cause for concern. This furry little tornado was doing some damage!

Picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a T-shirt, and leather gloves, puttering at maybe 25 mph down a quiet residential street, and in the fight of his life with a squirrel. And losing...

I grabbed for him with my left hand. After a few misses, I finally managed to snag his tail. With all my strength, I flung the evil rodent off to the left of the bike, almost running into the right curb as I recoiled from the throw. That should have done it. The matter should have ended right there. It really should have.

The squirrel could have sailed into one of the pristinely kept yards and gone on about his business, and I could have headed home. No one would have been the wiser. But this was no ordinary squirrel. This was not even an ordinary angry squirrel. This was an EVIL MUTANT ATTACK SQUIRREL OF DEATH!

Somehow he caught my gloved finger with one of his little hands and, with the force of the throw, swung around and with a resounding thump and an amazing impact, he landed squarely on my BACK and resumed his rather antisocial and extremely distracting activities. He also managed to take my left glove with him! The situation was not improved. Not improved at all.

His attacks were continuing, and now I could not reach him. I was startled, to say the least. The combination of the force of the throw, only having one hand (the throttle hand) on the handlebars, and my jerking back unfortunately put a healthy twist through my right hand and into the throttle. A healthy twist on the throttle of a Valkyrie can only have one result. Torque.

This is what the Valkyrie is made for, and she is very, very good at it. The engine roared and the front wheel left the pavement. The squirrel screamed in anger. The Valkyrie screamed in ecstasy. I screamed in .. well .. I just plain screamed.

Now picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a slightly squirrel-torn t-shirt, wearing only one leather glove, and roaring at maybe 50 mph and rapidly accelerating down a quiet residential street on one wheel, with a demonic squirrel of death on his back. The man and the squirrel are both screaming bloody murder.

With the sudden acceleration I was forced to put my other hand back on the handlebars and try to get control of the bike. This was leaving the mutant squirrel to his own devices, but I really did not want to crash into somebody's tree, house, or parked car. Also, I had not yet figured out how to release the throttle... my brain was just simply overloaded. I did manage to mash the back brake, but it had little effect against the massive power of the big cruiser.

About this time the squirrel decided that I was not paying sufficient attention to this very serious battle (maybe he was an evil mutant NAZI attack squirrel of death), and he came around my neck and got INSIDE my full-face helmet with me.

As the faceplate closed part way, he began hissing in my face. I am quite sure my screaming changed intensity. It had little effect on the squirrel, however. The RPMs on the Dragon maxed out (since I was not bothering with shifting at the moment), so her front end started to drop.

Now picture a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a very raggedly torn T-shirt, wearing only one leather glove, roaring at probably 80 mph, still on one wheel, with a large puffy squirrel's tail sticking out of the mostly closed full-face helmet. By now the screams are probably getting a little hoarse.

Finally I got the upper hand ... I managed to grab his tail again, pulled him out of my helmet, and slung him to the left as hard as I could. This time it worked ... sort-of. Spectacularly sort-of ...so to speak.

Picture a new scene. You are a cop. You and your partner have pulled off on a quiet residential street and parked with your windows down to do some paperwork. Suddenly a large man on a huge black and chrome cruiser, dressed in jeans, a torn T-shirt flapping in the breeze, and wearing only one leather glove, moving at probably 80 mph on one wheel, and screaming bloody murder roars by, and with all his strength throws a live squirrel grenade directly into your police car.

I heard screams. They weren't mine...

I managed to get the big motorcycle under control and dropped the front wheel to the ground. I then used maximum braking and skidded to a stop in a cloud of tire smoke at the stop sign of a busy cross street. I would have returned to 'fess up (and to get my glove back). I really would have. Really... Except for two things.

First, the cops did not seem interested or the slightest bit concerned about me at the moment. When I looked back, the doors on both sides of the patrol car were flung wide open. The cop from the passenger side was on his back, doing a crab walk into somebody's front yard, quickly moving away from the car. The cop who had been in the driver's seat was standing in the street, aiming a riot shotgun at his own police car.

So, the cops were not interested in me. They often insist to "let the professionals handle it" anyway. That was one thing. The other?

Well, I could clearly see shredded and flying pieces of foam and upholstery from the back seat. But I could also swear I saw the squirrel in the back window, shaking his little fist at me. That is one dangerous squirrel. And now he has a patrol car. A somewhat shredded patrol car ... but it was all his.

I took a deep breath, turned on my turn-signal, made a gentle right turn off of Brice Street, and sedately left the neighborhood. I decided it was best to just buy myself a new pair of gloves!!!
You know you’re having a day when:

You get all the recycling/garbage collected and taken downstairs and forgot to check the kitchen where there is a whack of recycling that had not made it onto the deck to go downstairs.

You get into enjoy a long hot shower, begin shaving your legs and realize as you start on the second leg that the safety cap is still on the razor so you have to do both freakin’ legs over again and the hot water is beginning to fail.

You and a friend go and pick up a futon and mattress and realize that there is no way you’re going to fit into the car as well. Therefore you have to take transit and that’s another hour and a half wasted waiting for the stupid bus.

You decide to finally recycle the couch that was your first purchase as an adult (10+ years ago), you cry some tears and the next day after you’ve calmed down someone asks if they can have the couch once you get the futon. *GACK*

You get to work, get started working and a client points out that tho’ you normally wear funky socks they normally go with what you’re wearing (today, brown pattered pants, shoes and shirt with my fluorescent pink stripy socks) *sigh*

How’re you doin’?
This was too good to just forward. And to agree with My Girly Girl...it makes me all squishy inside too.

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"
"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up."

The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.
"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.
"Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.
"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is Heaven," he answered.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"
"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

Soooo...

Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word.
Maybe this will explain.

When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do? You forward jokes.

When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep contact, you forward jokes.

When you have something to say, but don't know what, and don't know how, you forward jokes.

Also to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get?

A forwarded joke.

So, next time if you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile.

You are all welcome @ my water bowl anytime.

Soooo....

Not quite a month has passed since I last blogged. I had a whack of good blog fodder from my Hawaiian vacation February 16 to 26, 2007 including pictures...it was gonna be a heck of a good read. Plus the sis-in-law's wedding reception in which I totally had too much fun, decided I'd try and smoke a cigar with the guys (knowing that I totally can't handle smoke around me and trying it was f'fing stupid but...did it anyways) and then totally had stories to tell about the next morning at the gift opening where I decided Myluc and I are going to run away and people can give us money....

But...

Here I am in Calgary, Alberta. Not quite a week. Arrived here last Tuesday morning after getting home on the Sunday evening after the gift opening, going to bath room and finding out via telephone messages that my poor mum had had a very serious single vehicle car accident. It was horrible. She was in a medicated coma with broken right wrist, broken left forearm, wrist and smashed hand, her left elbow was dislocated and a N shaped 15-18 stitch cut above her left eye until Wednesday when she woke up, began talking and responded with a very loud "SHUT UP" when I told her she looked silly without her teeth. It totally made my day.

I am happy to say though that as of today she has had most of the tubing removed (oxygen and iv), her facial bruising is healing, the orthopaedic surgeon has worked on her left hand, she can now move her right fingers, loved the semi-manicure I gave her (guck on her hand and fingers from last week...it just had to be removed), hates the fact that her left arm is really heavy and aches and she is really pissed off she can't have pizza and beer, a steak sandwich and really any food that isn't hospital food and o'course a smoke. Heavy smoker since she was 19 going on 52 on the 21st she's having a hard time with the forced quitting. I can only hope though, being the only non-smoker in the family that she will not start again. Wishful thinking I know but I'm thinking those thoughts anyways..

I want to thank those of you who have called, texted or emailed for your well wishes and prayers. Mum is doing much better and hopefully I will be back home soon.

Hopefully I can resume to semi-regular blogging soon.

Thank you for checking up if you have and even if you just lurk.

The Kitchen Bitch

A mother was working in the kitchen listening to her 5-year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room.
She heard the train stop and her son saying, "All of you sons of bitcheswho want off, get the hell off now... cause this is the last stop! And all ofyou sons of bitches who are getting on, get your asses on the train...cause we're going down the tracks.
The horrified mother went in and told her son, "We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train...butI want you to use nice language."
Two hours later, the boy came out of the bedroom and resumed playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say... "All passengers please remember your things, thank you and hope your trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon."
She heard her little darling continue...
"For those of you just boarding, remember, there is no smoking in the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today."
As the mother began to smile, the child added, "For those of you who arepissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the bitch in the kitchen."

Take the Rate My Life Quiz

Your Life Analysis:

Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life, and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable, valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life score is on the low end. Making key changes to different aspects of your life will bring you greater fulfillment. Do not be discouraged. Seek help outside yourself if need be. There is always time to change, and change will bring many rewards.

Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity, ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure thought free of interference. Your mind score is rather low, which means that your mental state is not in tune. Learn to filter out the noise of everyday life. Unplug, relax, read a good book. Take up a new area of study. Simplify and focus your mental energy and your mind function will improve.

Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however many of us are lacking in this area. Your body score is fairly average, which means there is room for improvement. Keep a focus on your physical health. Protect your body as it is your most valuable physical asset. Nutrition, stress reduction, and exercise are key.

Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner peace and balance. Your spirit score leaves room for improvement. Consider making a concerted effort to redefine your attitudes and focus your beliefs. Boosting your spirit will lead to greater life satisfaction.

Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your relationships with those around you, and is based on how large, healthy, and dependable your social network is. Your friends and family score suffers, yet it does not need to be this way. Strengthen your social network by reaffirming old bonds. Seek out new friendships, and they will provide you the reward you need.

Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very high, which means you are in a very happy situation right now. Do all you can to keep it strong.

Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current financial health and stability. Your finances are somewhat in the middle, neither bad or exceptional. Keep doing what works for you, and improve what doesn't. Focus on long-term financial stability as your goal.

Superstitions

Question: If a black cat crosses your path what is your reaction? Do you get those stand up hairs on the back of your neck? Do you try and get ahead of the black cat?

This morning a black cat crossed my path, I knew that I wouldn't get ahead so I just deemed that today would be a bad day...then a white cat crossed my path. Does this mean that the white cat deleted the black cats crossing?

My hrmm for the morning.

Sooo...the weekend.

I went to the bank Saturday morning. Restarted another GIC and the RRSP and created a budget beginning March 1 so that I will have $10,000 by next March. I'm nervous but I believe I can do it and not go too crazy....*fingers crossed*

Went home, wanted a nap but didn't. Left to go and meet Sprout and Robin, came back because I forgot my contacts...left again...went right to the condo instead of the liquor store because it was pouring rain.

Met Sprout, saw his pelvic superman symbol tattoo. I just didn't know that he liked superman even...I feel kinda like a bad sister. We went for lunch at the Cactus Club and then the liquor store where I picked up 2 kinds of sourpuss for the party. It's kinda sis-in-law and my thing I think....

The boys left and I cleaned up a bit. Put out leis and chocolate caramel popcorn from The Nutman and some malibu filled chocolate. Cracked the glow in the dark stir sticks...the girls were supposed to be there at 6. *sigh* from 6 to 7 they kept calling my cell for directions. Totally sucked because I don't drive and I could only say call me when you get to the downtown core...I don't know where the turn off on Hwy 1 is...gawd...I was so frustrated.

So then then all get there and rush up to the condo...downing drinks like there's no tomorrow because the reservations at Steamworks were for 7. Get to Steamworks and I call 2 who were driving. Kay...straight stretch from Hamilton/Homer down to Waterfront...they ended up in English Bay...finally they arrive...we have a good dinner...drank some Mohitos which were horrid but made me think of the awesome lunch we had at the airport that time....and then we cab it to Library Square. Where the fox n' firkin was...now a club. No cover before 10. All but the 2 who I think could get lost in a square room did not have to pay. They were late. We had rounds of shots...I got frustrated and had a beer and a shot of tequila. I watched sis-in-law flirt and oh my goodness can that girl drink...it was too funny. Danced, met Brendan and Dave...one Aussie and one really drunk Canadian guy who just wanted to rub on me. *shudder*

At 1230 2 of the 8 wanted to go because their feet hurt and they were tired. I couldn't get anyone ready to go. Finally I had enough...ttold them 5 minutes or they could call me and I'd let them in.

Back to the condo...in pjs and the girls some are ready for bed and some are talking and laughing really loud. At 230 I because like the housematron of a bunch of girl guides keeping them shushed. 3 to a bed (x2), one on the couch, one streched between the chair and ottoman (she was tiny ... Hee hee...her name was Tina). They all complained it was hot...I was freezing.

I shared a bed with Amy (bitchy n' grouchy when tired and ready for bed) and Ashley (too freakin' hot and too movey). I was up at 311, 426, 615 and 820. Finally at 820 I went and sat in a chair, legs flung over the side with every blanket I could find and we all crashed to 1030. Then they all freaked cuz the wanted to be gone by 11.

They were out the door and away by 11. I couldn't go because I hadn't been given instructions on what to do with the keys. The door didn't have a deadbolt, no mailslot and I couldn’t slide the key under the door. I dozed on and off waiting to hear from Jared and Robin. Finally at 230 they called and said just take the key and we'll meet you for lunch tomorrow.

I got home at 4...kinda bitched and whined to 5..crashed to 630 then sis-in-law and bman took a break from unpacking and came over for pizza with Luc and I. We all looked very tired...sis-in-law was totally hungover. They left and I was in bed by 9.

*phew*

I'll see if I can get permission from the girls to post pictures. Pretty tame I must say.

Blog Blurbage..it's looong

So much I want to blog about and it's all jumbled so I'll just mish mash it all together...kay..ready.

Sis in law...be warned there will be some sex stuff.

Christmas and New Years zoomed right by it seemed. Quicker than quick with awesome gifts, fun with friends etc. One of MyLuc's gifts was concert tickets to see 'The Arrogant Worms' February 1, 2007. We are going with friends and I still have not paid her for the tickets. I keep meaning to but when next I see her I say...probably at the concert if'n we can't hook up.

Last week chatting with a friend from my hometown we were talking about Grade 10 and under stuff...cuz I moved away in Grade 10. We were talking about a mutual friend and wouldn't you know it...lo and behold when I was picking up the gift for sis in law...I passed her, her husband and their son. I haven't seen this girl in like 15 years and we talked and talked until I noticed her hubby getting the let's get going look. We exchanged numbers and are going to hook up. Weird eh.

Then when the transit was down...one of those days...I was trying to call MyLuc to say I'd be late and saw a former coworker from the beginnings of my legal secretary days. As MyLuc picked up I hung up. We talked until she was running late for yoga. Again, exchanging numbers to hook up soon.

Last night on my way home with groceries this guy knocked on his van window and I pulled the Ipod earbud out of my ear and was ready to give directions and lo and behold it was an ex bf of my uncles. I called MyLuc said I'd be home at 630, went up, had some coffee and reconnected. It was so very cool. We're going to try for dinner soon.

*shakes head* Weird but very cool.

Talking over the day with MyLuc and then crying uncontrollably because I was thinking about my Gran and realizing that she has passed. I felt so lonely. MyLuc didn't know what to do so I grabbed SaraSue from the closet where she's been since Gran passed and hugged her so tight. I've had her since I was 5 and she's my best friend. Do you have something like that? I also found some quotes and a song lyric that I wrote thinkin' of my Gran:

Margaret Bonano - It is only possible to live happily ever after on a day to day basis.

Mark Twain - Whoever is happy will make others happy too.

Robert Frost - In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life; it goes on.

Paul Anka - And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain; My friends I'll say it clear, I'll state my case of which I'm certain; I've lived a life that's full, I've travelled each and ev'ry highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way.

Waking MyLuc up for some early nookie...and it was bad. Just as I was about to ...well you know...his stupid cell phone went off with the rooster alarm and I didn't. He did but I didn't. Up he got and went to work and I was so.....grrrr....You know. Then I went to sleep, missed my alarm, called in that I'd be late, was crossing the street to the bus stop with another guy and he was hit by a car. Now if I had been on his side it would've been me. As it was this old guy was like "I didn't see you" I had to give my info about what happened etc. So later I was squished on the skytrain with this lady going on and on about smokers, excema and people with backpacks. Twenty minutes. I finally turned off my Ipod cuz I didn't want to turn it louder and I couldn't really hear it. I walked in very late. My day was not a good one and it was only Tuesday.

Then I forgot to pick some stuff up for dinner and we had a little tiff cuz I wanted to make soup and sandwiches but then realized that I had forgotten tomatoes and lettuce and the pastrami for MyLuc would not go with the soup I bought and I didn't want to make salad. So he was pissy and watching the All Star Game...which I didn't want to watch so I went into the bedroom to watch Season 1 of Veronica Mars...which leads into

My being totally excited about going to HMV to spend my christmas gift cert, picking up Season 1 of Veronica Mars getting home and showing MyLuc only to be told that we watched two episodes and I thought it was stupid. *sigh*

I went to the bookstore to pick up books and maybe a game to do while on vacation. February 17, 2007 there are 21 people going to Hawaii to attend MyLuc's sis' wedding and then cruise for 7 days on the Pride of Aloha. Freestyle cruisin'...no formal nights. So the books are in the suitcase, in their bag so I don't read them...cuz I'm a readin' fanatic and a handheld suduko game for me to try but probably for MyLuc. Putting it on my Visa cuz "It's for the trip". I so gotta stop that thought process.

I'm going shopping for a wedding outfit, shorts, shoes and a few other things for the cruise after my Facialicious at Skoah with Strongarm and then we'll go see Stomp the Yard. It totally looks like a movie just for us.

Purchasing a $50 card from a guy who came around for 2 nights in Las Vegas at a hotel and then realizing that the flights to Las Vegas are like $350 alone. *shakes head* That's totally biting me in the ass.

Getting the condo from Sprout and his bf for sis in law bach and then finding out they are coming to town right then. They're leaving for the night, the bach night, then coming back the next day.

Trying to get the condo in Whistler from MyLuc's aunt and then asking her when she wants to be paid and finding out that I won't find out that I have it until April...when I want to pay for it before then because there is a guy coming who will pay full price. I will freakin' pay full price but then we can't eat. *sigh* MyLuc was soo..excited. He knows I want to go away to celebrate our 4th year of being together, he was going to pay for a day of skiing. And now...who knows what I can do that's romantic. I'm sure there is alot of stuff but I really, really wanted to go to Whistler. *sigh*

MyLuc and I have date night. We're going to see Pan's Labrynth. It looks awesomely scary...kinda like the Grimm's Fairytale one I'm thinking. I'll let you know.

Thanks for reading. *HUGE HUGS*

It was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that visibility was almost zero when the little blonde got off work.

She made her way to her car and wondered how she was going to make it home.

She sat in her car while it warmed up and thought about her situation. She finally remembered her daddy's advice that if she got caught in a blizzard she should wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it.

That way she would not get stuck in a snow drift.

This made her feel much better and sure enough in a little while a snow plow went by and she started to follow it.

As she followed the snow plow she was feeling very smug as they continued and she was not having any problem with the blizzard conditions.

After an hour had passed, she was somewhat surprised when the snowplow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car and signaled for her to roll down her window.

The snow plow driver wanted to know if she was all right as she had been following him for a long time. She said that she was fine and told him of her daddy's advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard.

The driver replied that it was ok with him and she could continue if she wanted, but he was done with the Wal-Mart parking lot and was going over to Sears next.

A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited.

"I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs, and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled. But as the days went on I learned that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people."

... Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk.

"I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived," said the politician. "In fact, I had the honor of being the first person to go to him for confession."

Water and Wine Education

It has been scientifically proven that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli (E. Coli) Bacteria found in faeces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of Poo.

However, we do not run that risk when drinking wine , beer (or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermenting.

WATER = Poo
WINE = HEALTH

Free yourself of Poo, drink WINE!!!

It is better to drink wine and talk shit than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I am doing it as a public service.

A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he wore his collar that way.

The man, who was a priest, said, "I am a Father." The little boy replied, "My Daddy doesn't wear his collar like that."

The priest looked up from his book and answered, "I am the Father of many." The boy said, "My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way."

The priest, getting impatient, said, "I am the Father of hundreds" and went back to reading his book.

The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, "Maybe you should wear your pants backwards instead of your collar.

A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

"Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3 o'clock in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed. "Who was that?" asked his wife. "Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers. "Did you help him?" she asks. "No, I did not, it is 3 o'clock in the morning and it is pouring out there!"

"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!"

The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?""Yes" comes back the answer. "Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband. "Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark."Where are you?" asks the husband. "Over here on the swing!" replies the drunk.
