Hi Y'all!

I know I know, I'm supposed to stop saying that but it is so much fun. *shrug* that's me.

I have decided to participate in Team in Training for Leukemia research. My goal is to raise $5,500 and participate in either a half or a full marathon. My coach April thinks I may be able to do the full marathon which'd be awesome but we'll see. I have entered as a walker as this is my first actual participating marathon not something I'm doing security at. I'm totally psyched and *fingers crossed* will reach my goal.

Funnies

A monkey is sitting in a tree smoking a joint when a lizard walks by, looks up and says to the monkey "Hey, what're you doing?"

The monkey replies, "Smokin' a joint, come up and have some."

So the lizard climbs up and sits next to the monkey and they smoke a few joints.

After a while the lizard says his mouth is 'dry' and he's going to get a drink from the river.

The lizard is so stoned that he leans over too far and falls into the river.

A crocodile sees this and swims over to the lizard and helps him to the side then asks the lizard, "What's the matter with you?"

The lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting up a tree with a monkey smoking pot, got too stoned and then fell into the river while taking a drink.

The crocodile says he has to check this out and wanders into the jungle.

He finds the tree where the monkey is sitting finishing up a joint. The crocodile yells up to the monkey and says "Hey!"

The monkey looks down and says,"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.......How much water did you drink?!"

Way down in the out ports of Newfoundland, Murph's old lady had been pregnant for some time and now the time had come.

He brought her to the doctor and the doctor began to deliver the baby.

She had a little boy, and the doctor looked over at Murphy and said,"Hey, Murph! You just had you a son! Ain't dat grand!!"

Murph got excited by this, but just then the doctor spoke up and said,"Hold on! We ain't finished yet!"

The doctor then delivered a little girl. He said, "Hey, Murph!

You got you a daughter!!!! She a pretty lil ting, too....

" Murph got kind of puzzled by this and then the doctor said, "Hold on, we still ain't got done yet!"

The doctor then delivered another boy and said,"Murph, you just had yourself another boy!"

Murph said to the doctor, "Doc, what caused all of dem babies?"

The doctor said, "You never know Murph, it was probably something that happened during conception."

Murph said, "Ah yeah, during conception."

When Murph and his wife went home with their three children, he sat down with his wife and said, "Mama, you remember dat night that we ran out of Vaseline and we had to use dat dere 3-in-1 Oil."

She said, "Yeah, I remember dat night"

Murph said, "I'll tell you, bye, it's a fookin' good ting we didn't use dat WD-40!!"

(What I don't understand is why they have a Jamaican(sp?) accent?)

A WEEK AT THE GYM

If you read this without laughing out loud, then there is something wrongwith you. This is dedicated to every woman who ever attempted to get into aregular workout routine.

Dear Diary...For my fiftieth birthday this year, my husband (the sweet dear) purchased me a week of personal training at the local health club. Although I am still in great shape (from playing on my high school softball team), I decided itwould be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Bruce, who described himself as a 26 year old aerobics instructor, and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My husband seemed pleased with my sudden enthusiasm to get started. Well, the club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress, so here it goes:

Monday: Started my day at 6:00am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Bruce waiting for me. He is something of a Greek God - with blond hair, dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Bruce gave me a tour and showed me the machines. He took my pulse after five minutes on the treadmill. He was alarmed that my pulse was so fast, but I attribute it to standing next to him in his Lycra aerobic outfit. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring. Bruce was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching fromholding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTICweek!

Tuesday:I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Bruce made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air-then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Bruce's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT!!It's a whole new life for me.

Wednesday:The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying on the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Bruce was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. His voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on thetreadmill, so Bruce put me on the stair monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Bruce told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other shit too.

Thursday:Bruce was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late, it took me that long to tie my shoes. Bruce took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the men's room. He sent Lars to find me, then, as punishment, put me on the rowing machine-which I sank.

Friday:I hate that bastard Bruce more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it. Bruce wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the &*@*#$ &*@*#$ barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. (Which I am sure you learned in the sadist school you attended and graduated magna cum laude from.) The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?

Saturday:Bruce left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing him made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the *$@#&& Weather Channel.

Sunday:I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband(the BASTARD) will choose a gift for me that is fun like a root canal or a hysterectomy.

Song Lyric/Chorus of the Moment - Honey, whaddya do for money?Honey, whaddya do for money?Yeah, whaddya do for money honey, how you get your kicks?Whaddya do for money honey, how you get your licks?

I had so much fun on the weekend. It's Wednesday but I'm hoping I haven't forgotten anything. So here goes.

Friday after work went to the liquor store. MyLuc had emailed and wanted a Baron. *shrug* okay. Went...there was one. Thank goodness. Havin' him ask me if I could pick something up for him was awesome as he normally picks up his own. My girly girl had totally turned my tastebuds to lemon vodka to go with my cranberry juice so I bought one of those and o'cousre I'm into trying new wines sooo.... I bought a Bad Dog White and a Painted Turtle. I don't really care what kind of wine but I really like the names. I was going to pick up two left feet but didn't....

MyLuc and I o'course went out on Saturday and bought my camera with a new memory card and a case. I didn't need batteries cuz his camera died so I got'em. He kept saying if we find a good one we'll go halfers....but we didn't so the camera is mine, mine I tell ya. We then wandered into the liquor store and I bought some wine to bring to dinner. Saturday night we went to our friends for dinner. Took a picture of their cat. Chicken breasts with Paella and salad. mmmm. And then we played Killer Bunnies. For those of you who are thinking "whaaa?!?" It's a card game where the goal is to have the carrot at the bottom of the carrot pile. You play this game, we played two and it took at least 3 hours and no matter how many cabbage, water, defence, weapons, special, very special or large prune danish cards you have....you have to have the carrot at the bottom of the pile. *sigh* I lost. But it is so totally addicting I can't wait to play again. Took a picture of the table and cards.

Sunday I met my girly girl at the mall. I bought some sandals and flipflops, two shirts, two sport tanks, a skirt, a pair of jeans, 4 bras (two which are very girly with flowers n'all), some undies and a teal work blouse. All in all a whack of money. It was totally fun and we were very lucky to have awesome women helping us out. At the Addition Elle where I purchased the bras my girly girl and I had the girl in stiches. I wanted to make sure the fit was correct so I asked and wanted her opinion and she was amazed at how at ease I was...what's the big deal? It's not like I can hid the girls and why should I. My girly girl explained to the woman that I wore gowns with bodices and corsets that show almost as much as the bras. Ahhhhh....lightbulb...she understood. It was too funny. We went to my girly girls and I watched her fold laundry and try to make lists for her trip to Israel. She has a whack of clothing and stuff. Goodness, I would have no idea what to bring but she's pretty organized when she gets her mind to it.

Monday, my free day off thanks to the Head lawyers at Coutts. We went to Starbucks for our morning coffee - not a normal thing and I thank goodness, I'd be in debt because of how much coffee and chai and lattes are. Across the street to the stylists and there I sat for 31/2 hours getting my hair foiled with "rebel red". We took pics. Can't wait to see what they turn out like...and o'course I'll post 'em. When the stylist finished blowdrying my hair all I could say was Goodness...awesome...my mom is gonna shoot me. It's amazing what a little colour can do. The stylist also thought my girly girl and I were 17-18 which totally made our afternoon. Over we went to the wedding store where my girly girl tried on two dresses. She looked amazing! Made me kinda teary about how beautiful she looked and glad that myLuc and I are going casual. We went to the jewelry store down at the Quay and I found exactly the ring I wanted to purchase for MyLuc. $350. And the guy was pressing the payment plan and I was like I have a VISA don't need a payment plan. It was great! And then we went to Lougheed Mall...to the shoe stores where my girly girl picked up an awesome pair of sandals. To Walmart where we looked at cheap DVD's and to various other stores where we just went to browse. Home to MyLuc who said "It doesn't look better or worse" *shrug* I guessed it was a compliment. To the grocery store and then home to dinner and veg.

Tuesday - First day back after a 3 day weekend. It was rough but I survived. Had a doc's appointment for a general checkup and because my neck and back have been stiff. Now I have to go for xrays on my neck. Lovely. MyLuc made pasta n' salad for dinner. We started watching CSI season 2 and then The Closer and o'course The 4400. All good stuff. To bed we went for some jokes that I thought were just not that funny....and o'course the kittens playing leapfrog over our legs and each other onto each other and o'course onto us.

Wednesday - And tadahhh..it's Wednesday and I'm plowing through the dictation tapes, not currently cuz I'm posting but you know, and chatting and o'course talking on the phone. Multitasking is great.

Hope your Wednesday is a good one. *HUGE HUGS*

I also was surfing around and found this site - it's kinda scary - be warned

*HUGE HUGS *
Congratulations to Kim and Norm!
The news this morning of the expected addition to your family is awesome!
Great news to lift the mood on a rainy, gloomy Monday.
Last night MyLuc and I went to see Bewitched. I have to say that I quite liked it although there were some points when Will Farrell (sp?) had me wishing for a fork to poke in my eye. Nicole Kidman did an awesome job and had me wishing for a chance to "rewind".
I decided that I wanted to pick up a digital camera for my upcoming trip to Trail. I don't know when next I'll get to get pictures of the Cameron family all together when my Gran is alive so I totally wanted to capture the moments with something other than a disposable camera. My plan, to enter a few stores and compare pricing, decide which one suited my needs and purchase it. *shrug* Sounded good to me.
Lo and behold, the way I shop for anything electronic doesn't bode well when MyLuc is with me. He's got the knowhow and the power words that will make salesmens ears perk up cuz they have someone who may try to trick them...somehow.
Before the movie started we went into Superstore. I was actually looking for CSI Las Vegas Seasons 1 and 2 or Buffy Season 2....under $60. We wandered over to the digital camera area and what do I see, a Fuji digital camera with printer. Sounds good but then MyLuc had a look at the box and the feature the camera came with a totally was like "No". Okaaaay...so then over to the display case where a Fuji camera was on sale for $247 with a $50 rebate. Looked good, simple enough for me to use...had a zoom feature. MyLuc came over, went to get the salesperson, started asking her questions and she was like, I don't know, *shrug* I don't know maybe....needless to say MyLuc made me write down all the info so he could look online to see the deals. Next stop - Future shop. Nothing under $500 so we left. Over to A&B. Two cameras, a Sony $249 and a Panasonic $279. MyLuc and the salesguy talked shop about features and stuff, I played with the zoom and the movie w/audio feature and tried, really I did to all the shop talk. I know that I like the Panasonic feature with the stabilizer. We all need that when we're a little shaky. And again, I had to write down all the info so MyLuc could check it out online. On the way out I asked for the salesguy's card so that I could get him to hold one of the cameras for me if MyLuc deemed it A-OK.
We watched the movie. I told MyLuc I needed a drink cuz my water bottle was empty. He came back with Strawberry Bubble Tea. I love the stuff. So sweet and refreshing with chunks of strawberry and o'course the pearls. Tapioca type stuff...I think. MyLuc had never had a bubble tea but he has this thing about trying stuff sooo...he took a long slurp of the straw and was totally not prepared for the pearls. The look that came across his face...priceless. During the movie he figured out if he lifted the straw he'd get the juice not the pearls...this I figured out when I had a whack of pearls left and no juice. It was too funny, I ended up just stabbing them with the straw or trying to suck'em up. It kinda worked.
On the way home MyLuc decides we should stop at London Drugs and see their selection of digital cameras. They have at least 10 that are under $300. I like those odds. MyLuc and the salesguy commence the camera talk and I add in the occasional ....so it has a stabilizer (Like I know what I'm talking about). The salesguy then tells us of one that has been on sale and that he's getting them in on Sunday. Monday we can come see if there are any left. The guy gets on the computer to give MyLuc all the info...by this time I can honestly say I was getting ready to just say, sounds good, save one and I'll buy it. I didn't want to hear anymore. And o'course MyLuc has me write all the info down. I get the guys card with the type of camera on it ...an Olympus and we're off.
It's close to 10, it's been a long day, the kittens are wound tighter than a yoyo and I'm tired. We get home, MyLuc gets on the computer and lo and behold. I have permission to get the London Drugs Olympus digital camera. MyLuc crawls into bed and we do the number crunching - the camera is $279 with a $50 rebate (I think), I need to purchase a new memory card $70, a case $20 and batteries $50 or more. So far the camera is costing me $350-$400. But MyLuc says it's got all the features I need and it prolly won't be on sale anytime soon. Totally gotta think about it.
On the minus side is cost. That's huge. On the plus side, all the features I want plus a few that I can learn to use and I'll have better pictures than a disposable can take when I see my family.
We'll see.
*HUGE HUGS*
Cuz this is just cute!

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
My biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew.
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked him...
Like his mother used to do.

Thursday Funny (cuz you know I like mediaevaly stuff)

The Question and The Answer
Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighbouring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals.
So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a yearto figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.
The question? ...What do women really want?
Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, andto young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.
He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer. Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer. But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.
The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first. The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!
Your Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewerage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden, but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus...What a woman really wants, she answered ..is to be in charge of her own life.
Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was, the neighbouring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.
The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen, lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened, the beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half. Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day or night?
Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman toshow off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous, intimate moments?
What would YOU do?
Noble Lancelot, knowing the answer the witch gave Arthur to his question, said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself. Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.
Now...what is the moral to this story?
The moral is...If you don't let a woman have her own way...Things are going to get ugly.

And because I've returned from lunch and there is absolutely no one in the office.

http://www.cbc.ca/cgi-bin/quiz/quiz.cgi?quiz=arts_keanu

I scored 7 out of 10. How'd you do?
Happy "Hump" Day

Well, I made it through the weekend. Yep, I still shed a few tears but what can I say, it had been a very long stressful week.
Thursday- Work was okay. Surfed. Got through the day and ended right on 4. Actually, I would have had to work late but Tom was on the phone. Sneaky me. Got home listened to our voicemail cuz MyLuc doesn't - the LMP concert scheduled for the 10th. Cancelled. *sigh* Oh well. Went for a walk, calmed down, had a coupla drinks. Watched tv. Bed.
Friday - Canada Day - Didn't do nuthin'. It was rainy and gross and I didn't want to be wet and grouchy in a crowd of people. A little disappointed to miss Colin James and Sue Foley but whatcha gonna do. Went down and paid rent, spoke to Phyllis about our COBB. She said she'd send the husband up tomorrow. Then we just stayed in and watched more tv...had a few more drinks...bed.
Saturday - MyLuc and I decided to have a day to ourselves. We cleaned the apartment and waited for the husband.....MyLuc headed out for groceries and whatever errands he wanted to do and then it was my turn. We decided that one of us should be in the apartment to wait for the husband. I went out, had a hair trim and made an appointment to get some colour put in. Woohoo! Rebel Red here I come. Had an iced reaspberry something or other from Blenz. Totally chilled with my book and relaxed. Headed home about 3 hours later. Had to make a dessert for MyLuc's A.Lorna and Cuz Nicole who were arriving at 5. MyLuc made dinner. Steak...go figure. I made a light Tirimisu thingy that was oh my god so good mmmmmmmmmmm. They left, we relaxed. Went to bed.
Sunday - No husband. *sigh* MyLuc and I decide that if we don't hear by Wednesday next we're using the Cobb and that'll get'em up. I call our friends Elphin and her roommie Jen to see if they remembered dinner at Shabusen. They did remember but I hadn't told them a time. *blush* I'm a goober. MyLuc's 'rents and sis show up and off we go on transit to downtown Vancouver. We meet Elphin and Jen there and have a grand ole japanese korean bbq dinner. MyLuc and I make plans for next Saturday to go play Killer Bunnies. An awesome card game thing that brings out my inner meanie. It's great. Home we go, the family comes up to see the kittens, they love Chloe (that's my girl). Can't sleep worth sheep cuz the cats have decided if I leave anyting on the floor they're going to take a run for it, jump on it and slide. Ack! Stupid ass I am leaving newspapers and magazines on the floor. Emma and Chloe have also discovered the holes in the laundry basket. One gets in and pokes her paw through the hole and the other grabs it. They scream and play forever. Gotta purchase a closed one I'm thinkin' ... as well as clean up o'course.
Monday - Back to work. It's hard getting back into the groove after 3 days. Especially with the cats surfing on whatever I leave on the floor. I hope after my holiday it'll be easier. I get off work right at 4 cuz Tom's not in.. Get hom, open the mail and promptly burst into tears. My 10 year reunion, the one that I've been totally psyched about...cancelled due to dumbass 28year olds not turning in their deposit money. Gawd dang it all! MyLuc commented that it must be good stuff for me to react that way. I told him what had happened and his response - are we still going to Trail then? More tears, yes I blubbered. I've contacted all of my moms family made sure they're going to be in town that weekend and we are going out to dinner. No reunion but that's okay money back in my pocket, more time to spend with my friends and family and ... stupid dumbass 28 year olds. Called my friend Strongarm and she was like yeah, lost money on my flight down (which I originally thought was stupid anyways) and now no plans for the summer. On the upside they couldn't find anyone to work her shifts anyways so she doesn't have to cancel those plans. *sigh*
Funny of the evening - Chloe has decided she likes to ride the fan. Her two favorite stunts climbs up on it and 1. lies down and goes to sleep or 2. stands there like the two riding the bow of the titanic...arms down o'course. Maybe I'll be a digital camera that actually works instead of depending on MyLuc's and try and catch a picture. It's pretty funny.
Tuesday - Nothing much to report. Worked, chatted, talked on the phone, typed up dictation, talked to my friends via msn or text msg on our cells. Home. Made lasagna. It was okay. Not the best. Chloe fan surfed some more. Bed.
Wednesday - Tadahh! Here I am to write some mooooore. Yeah I know, it doesn't come across like it does when you are actually in the same room. Multitasking and getting stuff done. That's about it. Tonight is leftovers and perhaps some actual sleep.
*HUGE HUGS* Ttyl.
