I did it! I did it!

I asked MyLuc to marry me. He said yes.

I gave him his ring for his bday (Sept. 8) along with his Corner Gas tee shirt, tickets to Corner Gas Live and the beginning edition of Killer Bunnies.

He opened the ring box, looked at me as was like "Wow! This is nice" I told him "What you expected me to get you crap?". He took it out of the box and asked me to put it on his finger. It was kinda weird in a Wow kinda way that the ring just slid on his finger perfectly.

He hasn't taken it off since. Which is totally awesome!

We went to his family September Birthday Party (cuz like 7 of them have bday's in Sept.) and I told him I wasn't going to be grabbing his hand and saying "Look at his ring...isn't his ring nice....did you see his ring?" Or variations of that. We picked up my girly girl and o'course the first thing I said was..."Did you see his ring?" And then we picked up Grandad Mel....I didn't say a word. Very proud of myself for that.

The first person I told was his Mom and I did it by saying "I gave him his ring. Did you see it?" I couldn't help myself. This was his mom. She cried. She has cried at least once every time I visit for almost 3 years. *sigh* She says it's menapause...I say it's me.

And then when my girly girl were coming outside to the deck we heard Grandad Mel say "You don't wear jewelry ... whatzat?" MyLuc held his hand out and was like "Oh, Melissa asked me to marry her...this is my engagment ring". It was too funny. Grandad Mel slapped him on the head and said "I was in the car with you and you didn't say anything".

Overall everyone was very happy and are totally asking "When's the Day?" "Have you set a day?"

I keep telling them. It's going to be a very long engagement. I have to polish up edges yet. And o'course the big three: 1. Go to Vegas and get married in the TLC wedding chapel by an Elvis; 2. Have an Elvis marry us here; 3. Country music at the reception. I know #3 is more possible than the others but I'm gonna try my damndest.

When I get a chance I'll post a pic of MyLuc's ring. It's very nice. I'm very proud of myself.
