When your leg falls asleep what do you do?

I normally stand and shake it and feel the rootbeer bubbly fizzes as it comes back to life. Why rootbeer bubbly fizzes...I don't know...it's been that way since I was little. Pins n' needles I think it's called.

Anyways...Friday night, 9:30...MyLuc and I have had 3 drinks and he's already zonkered. Although if you'd had one of MyLuc's drinks you'd be on your way as well. We were watching some movie and I had to go to the bathroom. Got up and fell down. Yep, my right leg went to sleep, I rolled over on my ankle and all 239lbs landed on the bone. I o'course yelled for MyLuc but he was already sleeping. Sooo....hobbled to the fridge for some frozen veggies...went to bed and put them on my ankle...and to sleep I went.

The next morning my ankle was huge and MyLuc and I headed for the walkin clinic. Now we know there is going to be a wait...there always is. I was there for 45 minutes, the doc tensored my ankle and suggested I go for xrays although we'd have to drive to Coquitlam and there was no guarantee that it'd still be open as it was 1030 and it closed at 1230 and traffic and all....sooo..we went home. Before that tho' we went into London Drugs so I could rent some crutches...$35 deposit later I was hobbling my way outta the store. Let me tell you...crutches suck!

All day Saturday and all day Sunday I could do nothing. MyLuc said that if I got up without a reason he'd kick my ass. So every time I had to get up to go to the bathroom he'd ask...what're you doing. Now that's awesome and all but every freakin' time? I called my HR and told her what's going on....I wouldn't be in on Monday because I had to go for xrays.

Monday I hobbled my way to the taxi, $10 ride later, hobbled into xrays, 10 min or less I hobbled back to the taxi $10 ride later I was home. I finished Season 3 of Buffy and had a nap. It was horrible...well not horrible but lonely after spending so much time with MyLuc.

Tuesday MyLuc drove me to the skytrain at 6 in the morning. I hobbled my way to the two escalators to get to the platform and luckily gotta seat. Although there wasn't too many of us. Off the train to the very slow elevator. Crossed the street without too many people honking at me cuz I was slow.

Got to my building and wouldn't you know it...you push the button so the doors open and it swings outward. Now I'm not that steady as it is on my crutches so that was horrible. Not to mention the guy sitting on the table at the front door watching. Made it to the elevator and then had to fumble for my keycard as the elevator doesn't go past the first floor at that time in the morning.

Made it to the front door, whacked all the newspapers together and then had to get down to open the door...the lock is near the floor. Struggled to open the door, stay on my crutches but I did it. Made it to my desk and that is where I stayed. From 630 to 1 (lunch) and then from 2 to 4. Everyone was awesome helping with faxing and scanning n'all.

My boss walked me to the skytrain and then to the elevator, got my ticket punched for me (I don't have a pass this month) and waited until I was okay. By 4 my ankle was totally throbbing and I was in total agony. Skytrain was busy but being "disabled" I got a seat.

Caught a cab up the hill. MyLuc met me at the door as I wasn't sure I could open the doors as my shoulders were killing. I made it into the apartment and to a chair and there I sat. I didn't even change outta my work clothes. My shoulders hurt, my ankle hurt, my left knee hurt from trying to do the support for my right leg. *sigh* Called After Eight and have hired her to do my xmas shopping...cuz there is no way I can get everything done by this weekend. MyLuc made dinner, took off my bandage and was awesome. I made it to the bathroom to brush my teeth and to bed I went.

Wednesday made it to work at 630. To my desk and here I am still. Typing away. Looking busy and trying to do everything within reach. *sigh* It's gonna be a long day.

*HUGE HUGS*

My advice - Be careful getting up when your leg is asleep.

So, umm, you aren't gonna get an xray? LOL ... I've done it too. It's always the 'smart' injuries that are the worst! Hope you're feeling better soon :)
