Wow, over four years since my last post. As I read my last post I realized HOLY HADES I have come so freakin' far. Here's a long post...ready...
2009 I became quite ill. I had developed symptoms of PTSD from my childhood that surfaced quite violently. I was bugging and laughing MyLuc and then...quite violently my life changed. I ended up seeing a Psychiatrist and Psychologist and dredging up thoughts, feelings and Oh My Goodness moments. It was hard and sad and angry and a definite learning experience on that which you must learn the lesson not just pass over to the next chapter.
2010 was the year of choices to be made. I listened hard and quietly to the voices of my soul and my friends and those that without whom I might have not found the strength to go on. I left MyLuc after many years together. He went away and I chose to do what I thought was best for the both of us. Unfortunately I lost a friend and lover and one whom I had chose to spend my life with. Asking for the ring back was one of the hardest things I had to do, as was "it was yours all along" to be heard.
In May I followed through with a decision that was close to my heart. My ex-Mom n'Law ...lets call her FlowerLady...and I went to donate our hair to Breast Cancer. I donated almost 13" and she almost 9". I had almost 5 lbs of hair in a baggie and a very cute copper rinsed pixie cut. Everyone said timing wise I was making a clean start but no, I chose to cut my hair as a coworker decided after a year of wearing her wig after cancer treatment to go into work the Monday and was afraid. This way, we shared the attention and really, they only noticed the change in me. For her, she had had a fantabulous short wig so it was just a different hair style.
2010 I have assigned my grieving year. It was a year where I left a partner, I had to leave our cats behind, I had to learn to live alone again without someone constant in my life. I had to learn to listen to myself, to take time for myself without being afraid of the unknown. To understand that I am a strong woman, with great friends and family and that change is not a bad thing, just another step to take in life.
2011 was the year of learning and listening. I chose this year to do things for me. To make the harsh decision of not waiting and listening to my thought process and bring the positive in my life.
In January I chose to open my heart again for selfish reasons. I am a woman and wanted to be desired. Unfortunately a friend of many years was hurt and now we are no longer close but it was a definite learning lesson.
In February I had lazer eye surgery. It was one of my most awesome things I have ever done. I had gone previously to check it out and had been told it isn't worth the money, it won't last for ever and you will still end up with glasses. Well, let me tell you, this was a good decision, adding to my loan, having 20/20 vision and the glee of not fogging up during temperature changes and wiping constantly due to rain..*sings* Fantabuloussss
In March I quit my job. I had been there not quite four years and I was not happy. I was tired of the politics of working in a busy law firm and not being spoken to with respect. My last day was April 1, 2011 and no one thought it was a good idea...at the time
From April to December 2011 I have worked temporary postings here and there, from New Westminster to West Vancouver. I have worked with ALL the lawyers or secretaries in various firms from waay back when I first began my Legal Secretary/Assistant career. It has been an awesome journey.
In August, Luc contacted me and said he was going to get rid of the cats as he wasn't home enough to spend time with them. Did I know anyone who could take them. Of course I did, ME. So I told my landlords that although I had signed a lease until December 31, 2011 I was going to have to break it in order to get the cats. They talked together and decided I was able to have them in December. FANTASTIC! Luc said that was fine, as long as they were going to go to a good home. Well, Duh, seriously...
In September employment ended. There were no temporary assignments available and I had to decide what I was going to do. I took half of my retirement savings in order to pay rent and bills. I borrowed money from a good friend with a "when you can you can pay it back", another friend gave me rent in the form of an envelope marked "breathing space".
From September 1 to November 29 I was unemployed. I lost weight, I was eating sparingly in order to stretch my cupboards and I thought, a lot, about the choices I was making and whether or not it had been such a good idea. Should I be stressed? Was this really a good choice?
November 29, I began a temporary assignment through December and I have been lucky enough that it has been extended weeks by weeks. We shall see where it goes.
December 2, my friend Froggy Owl and I went to get the cats, the girls (Chloe and Emma)from Luc. We arrived, they weren't ready so we went up to the condo. I was very surprised to see that it was bare. I mean, he lives there but, it was bare. No personality and empty feeling. I understand from his Mom (who is still in my life thank goodness) that he is a minimalist but this was ridiculous. Very cold. We collected the girls in their carrier, a bag of random items, food, litter, their scratch post and he helped us carry everything to the car. I did not want to make two trips. Along the way I looked at Luc. Really looked and into myself as well and thought, do I miss you? There was nothing, he had erased me so completely from his life that there wasn't even a void. It was a blank space. Frightening actually.
December 31, 2011 I had new years with my cousins (not my blood cousins but my friends TumakHunter, CJ and their awesome daughter Stardancer). TumakHunter and I grew up together, our Moms being best friends. He is a few years older than I but we've remained close all these years. I am very grateful for the opinions and strength that they can give me. We had some discussions about the future and what it might hold.
All the choices I made through 2011 read quite stressful, but really, I haven't been that stressed. My anxiety hasn't been that terribly high and I do not regret the choices that I have made. At all, should I have?
From friends who care to professionals and their "are you sure?" opinions...2011 has been a really good year. Honest.
I have decided 2012 is going to be my year of adventure. I have given myself a deadline to accomplish a NEW adventure.
Of course there are stories in amongst the months but this is just a loooong catch up. Thank you for reading if you have been.

November 24, 2008
I became 32 years old at 12:45 p.m. It's hard to believe that I'm 32. Years have gone by and I've accomplished so much but have so much yet to accomplish.
Before I turned 30 I had three wishes along with the "I don't want to be single when I'm 30".
Wish #1 - Graceland - accomplished when I was 25 to go along with the 25th Anniversary of his passing. It was a fantastic vacation and a really good time and I definately want to go back to Memphis..and o'course Graceland.
Wish #2 - Go to New Zealand. I had the money honey but not the time. The year I was to go on vacation was the year of MyLuc's sis' wedding and I really wanted to opt out BUT didn't. I'd like to say that I had a fanastic time in Hawaii but I'd really like a do over...
Wish #3 - Visit Michael Landon's graveside. This one was last because it is probably not based in reality. Mr. Landon provided me much comfort growing up as a father and angel. I pay him my respects often but a visit and a flower would mean a lot to me.
30 Rocked! My mom came to visit and we went on the West Coast Express (Train) out to the inlaws with my best friend for family dinner. The next day was supposed to be just family day with MyLuc's and mom but there were plans in the works and his entire family (both sides) came out and we had a fantastic dinner and visit AND my girlygirl and friend ChinChew came in from Vancouver.
31 - Dinner with MyLuc and he sneakily invited my girlygirl her then beau, ChinChew and his now fiancee to the restaurant which has featured front row in our relationship, first date, first anniversary, etc. Can't recall the name at this moment but maybe in a later post.
32 - The whole freakin' of November.
First weekend lobster dinner for four..all that was needed for us to do was open the door, my friend Jules and her hubby arrived with food in tow, lobster, crab, scallops n' bacon and four bottles of white wine for Jules and I drank from pint glasses.
2nd weekend I was so totally sick so I rested.
Weekend three brought me with Strongarm and Precious to NKOTB on the Friday
Saturday was Twilight and dinner at the inlaws in which I received the most awesome teapot from japan and season two of Veronica Mars.
Sunday was laundry
Monday HAPPY BDAY TO ME! Well wishes from around the world via Facebook along with free texting...thank goodness. Lunch with coworkers past and present and Dinner with MyLuc just chillin. And I finally have a computer. Woot!
Tuesday blood donation, but I was turned away for being too hot...37.5 and I was 376. *sigh* My friend Kim came over and made me an awesome greek dinner.
Wednesday lunch with my immediate bosses PDW and Tony with dinner to come of Pho with Luc and his coworkers.
Thursday isn't here yet but Friday is fishbowling with my girlygirl and just chillin'. Saturday MyLuc is having friends over to play with the Wii (tee hee) and then Sunday is recovery...fun stuff eh?

Lovers of the English language might enjoy this.....
How do non-natives ever learn all the nuances of English??? There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.'
It's easy to understand UP , meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ?
At a meeting, why does a topic come UP ? Why do we speak UP a and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report?
We call UP our friends and we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.
At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir up trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special.
And this up is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP . We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP !
To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP , look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions
If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP , you may wind UP with a hundred or more.
When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP . When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP . When it rains, it wets UP the earth. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP .
One could go on &on, but I'll wrap it UP , for now my time is UP , so .... Time to shut UP .....!

Thursday Funny
The Old Poodle and the Leopard
A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa, taking her faithful aged poodle named Cuddles, along for the company.
One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, Cuddles discovers that he's lost.
Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.
The old poodle thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep doo-doo now!"
Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat.
Just as the leopard is about to leap the old poodle exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard!
I wonder if there are any more around here?"
Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.
"Whew!", says the leopard, "That was close! That old poodle nearly had me!"
Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree.
Figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard.
So off he goes, but the old poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.
The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard.
The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!
Now, the old poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?", but instead of running.
The dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear.
The old poodle says "where's that damn monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!
Moral of this story....
Don't mess with old farts...age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!
Bullshit and brilliance only come with age and experience.
I am in no way insinuating that any of you are old, some are just more youthfully challenged.

It's been not quite a month since my last posting...well...my last jokes really.
So I'm going to just do a point form mish mash. Ready?

- I volunteered at the Alcan Dragon Boat festival this past weekend. I was assigned to work on the docks with other volunteers and members of the Vancouver Reserves. I had a blast. There were 197 teams, 4 docks with 4 boats per dock. I was dock #5 and before I had my break 30 boats had been in, loaded and unloaded with paddlers. Each boat held 28 team members. I volunteered for the hours of 630 am to 730 pm. Yup, all freakin' Saturday. The morning I had a slow run but by 3pm I was having a blast. And my team member was awesome! I admit it. I'm a tshirt whore. Volunteer or pay to attend...I have a few tshirts now. I think last count was 7 and it's only June.
- MyLuc and I are good. Both to freakin' busy to have time for each other but doing good. He's now joined Rock Climbing. It's been two weeks and he's bought the shoes, the chalk, the chalk bag and next is the harness and belaying gear. He's also bought new goggles and balls for both Raquetball and Squash. He had the raquets already.
- We have a new secretary at work. She's from New Zealand. The turnaround in our office is very extreme. Since i've been here there have been at least 7 secretaries for one set of the lawyers. I've been with my primary lawyer now for 3 years June 1st and had various seconds. I'm on my third one and they share the same first name. So my primary is Tom and my secondary is Thomas.
- On Friday, June 15th I went and got two new tattoos. On my right wrist the symbol for Infinity. I heard a quote once "Infinity goes in both directions." Now to mean I think that like my Phoenix "rebirth" What goes around comes around. My right wrist is my gramma's wrist. I've worn the blue cancer bracelet that used to grace her wrist since she passed away last August. I am going to have it coloured in the blue of the bracelet and try to incorporate my primary colours of red n' yellow somehow as well. On my left wrist I have the printing "Breathe". This is something that is essential to life and when there is chaos all around you breathing is a must. It also helps to center and balance. In my opinion. My girly girl also had "Breathe" put on her left wrist tho' hers is in pretty fancy swirly script. It suits her as mine does me.
- I am now helping out my little brother and his boyfriend by cleaning their condo here in Yaletown. Let me tell ya, it's easy peasy. The hardest part for me so far is figuring out wet laundry detergent.
- The week of June 11th I ate out every day. How horrid is that....seriously. On Monday I went for Italian with my best Strongarm. She won a certificate for 4th place from Eat Vancouver. Tuesday it was sushi with the sis n' law, Wednesday I attended free First Aid/Emergency/CPR training that was provided by the Alcan Boat Festival...I had beef jerky and red bull, Thursday I went for Italian with Girly girl and her new beau and Friday to White Spot for a burger and sweet potato fries. Saturday my girly girl and her beau and I went for mexican and Sunday it was father's day and MyLuc made his corn, there was steak and baked potatoes, asparagus from the grill and salad. And I didn't gain weight. Pretty good I must say.
- MyLuc's corn is grilled on the bbq then he halves a lemon, places the cut side into a half n' half mix of salt and indian spice n' rubs it on the corn as it comes off the grill. It is so delicious I am not going back to putting butter on my corn...it's healthier but for the salt.
More has happened for sure but that's it for now.
