My Personal Dna Report
You know your day is going to be interesting ...
  • When you're putting dishes away from the dishwasher and open the fridge...and wait.....for what ?
  • You receive an email from one of the lawyers apologizing for the raid on your candy stash...they ate them all because no one else had food in their desk. And after all, you had given them permission.
  • You receive an email from one of the lawyers because they ate your banana because it was there.
  • Your alarm goes up and you fall back asleep cuddling your love only to awake because if you're alarm goes off that means he's late for work. Waking him by violently shaking him...getting him up and almost dressed when he wakes enough to tell you that he's taken the day off.
  • You make a large lunch with a variety of healthy things that'll last for lunch tomorrow...realizing after you get to work that today is Friday and you really really don't want to be in the office tomorrow.

Hows your day?

Random Thoughts n' Grumbles, Groans 'n Moans:

Stuff comes in groups of threes:

November 24, 2003-2005
  • Midnyte my very first cat as an adult has to be put down. He was very, very sick. MyLuc came with me and we cried.
  • Sprout, my little bro, comes to town for April Lavinge and then heads over to Stretch's, my other little bro for pot and fun..forgets that it's my birthday and MyLuc and I were waiting for the telephone call to meet him for dinner.
  • My Girly Girl, a horrid misunderstanding which ended a friendship...or sent it into hiatus.

March 21, 1994 and 2006

  • Auntie R heads to the hospital for cervical cancer
  • Mom heads into the hospital for breast cancer
  • Auntie R heads to the hospital for breast cancer

Babies born end of 2005 beginning of 2006:

  • Hugh
  • Amelia
  • Quinnlin

Can't figure out what I'm craving so I bake or mix:

  • chocolate chip cookies that I didn't like
  • raspberry fudge that I didn't like
  • cinnamon oatmeal chocolate no bakes that I didn't like
  • Long Island Iced Tea - yup..doesn't taste what I want it to taste like

MyLuc's Family (more than three):

  • Gran Iris goes into a home because of dementia and advanced alzheimers.
  • Auntie L goes into the hospital for surgery on her spine.
  • Grandad Mel goes into the hospital for chest pains and they find other stuff.
  • Sis L can't figure out where she's getting married. They know it's in February 2007 but haven't decided where. It was in Cuba and now?
  • MyLuc's mom n' dad have been sick for over two weeks now...with that fluey cold thing.
  • Cuz B's bday..we gave $35 . $5 from each of us and his comment to Auntie Mel...more than you thought now isn't it?

Work (more than three):

  • Nothing worse than a papercut in your cuticle
  • or in your hand wrinkly
  • Not knowing where you'll be working come May 31
  • Getting to be Bowling for Big Bros captain cuz the Coutts told you to.
  • Raising $100 for the above by asking nicely and using...you're not bowling want to get a tax receipt?
  • Having to remind your co-worker again that the use of your name more than 3 times in 20 minutes is not going to make you a happy camper..especially since you sit less than 3 feet from each other.

Visa Card:

  • Buying Cirque de Soliel tickets and being impatient for not receiving the receipt and going online and purchasing two more. Almost a month's rent for a show that you haven't seen. I really hope it's good cuz I've two sets of tickets now.
  • Buying tix to a concert because the artist has been compared to the likes of Billie Holiday and your first thought is Glamazon needs a break...lets do something nice.
  • Having to wrap your last bill over the card and put it in your drawer. The payments must be made or no trip to wherever MyLuc's sis wedding will be. Or moving. 'Amergencies' only...eh Dixie Chick?

I Can Do It!!

Waay back in September I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training to fundraise and participate in a 30km Marathon in Phoenix, AZ. Unfortunately due to not meeting the minimum fundraising amount I was unable to participate in the Marathon. Several people contributed hugely to my fundraising efforts and in doing so have a teensy bit of leverage over continuing my training to participate in the 10km Sun Run here in Vancouver April 23.

Strongarm and I will be participating the Sun Run and maybe *gasp* running at least some of it. Holy freakin' goodness. I never wanted to run because too much of me moves no matter how I strap my curves to my body with spandex wear.

This is going somewhere I promise...

Last night tho' was an "OH MY GOD" moment.

In January I was measured for a bridesmaid dress that the bride was making. That made sense right?!? Last night I went for a fitting and found out that I went from a size 18 to a 22...because I've lost in my waist and hips but gained in my bust. Now itsa medieaval gown, fairly low in the front, royal blue with lacy sleeves (I'll get a pic when I can) but we *might* have to put a panel in the back because the top of the dress doesn't close.

Here I was all proud of myself because I've been training 1 hour a day...walking a whole whack up hills and down and going to the gym to do some cross training and all my work is going to shrink places and expand others. MyLuc isn't complaining so that's prolly why I didn't notice...right?

So now I have 2 goals...continue upping my walking training with a little jogging and running for April 23rd and lose at least 2 sizes in my chest (are we actually able to do that) before June 2.

I can do it...I just have to wrap my head around it and o'course believe that my efforts will shrink my girls.

Goodness eh?

Quote of the Day

Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but she did it backwards and in high heels ~ Faith Whittlesley

Random Stuff:

I know that I'm a nosy person...or recognize the fact...when I hear someone in the hallway of my building...and I go to look out the peephole and almost give myself a concussion because I'm standing too close to the door.

Chloe aka Destructo Cat doesn't learn...twice during the night she stuck her head in the kleenex box and tried to run through the apartment. MyLuc saved her both times.

Chloe is too smart for her own good. MyLuc doesn't like her using his monitor to climb on the top shelf of his desk. Instead she goes from the back...up the curtains...and perches victoriously mocking him with her smartness.

I was off work for a few days because I tore one of the tendons in my bicep. How? Exercising would be so much better than say...Working. I was filing. Filing...how the heck? I don't know but the pain was horrid and now I have two tensor thingy's around my forearms because I have the onset of tendonitis. Lovely eh..

After lunch with my old roommate in which she learned that MyLuc and I are three years together this April someone commented that I had forgotten my crutches...gesturing to my tensor thingy's. I said no, they have nothing to do with crutches...and then proceeded to fall down the four steps into the lobby. The man then commented maybe I should have some.

MyLuc has spoken with his boss Paul now known as Paul Boss about my work situation. Paul Boss just happens to know someone in the field of law that might be looking for someone. This friend is a Physics Major who decided he didn't want to go into that field and instead went into law. Paul Boss also went through the Physics program and almost got his degree but got bored with it. I just don't understand paying the money and going through years of schooling and then deciding...naah. I need a change. But o'course that's my opinion.

Eight years I've worked in the legal field, legal assistant, secretary, receptionist, office manager, junior accountant. Two years I worked as a Security Guard, Prince George Pulp Mill searching trucks and BCIT in Bby being my longest places of employment. One year I was a Nanny for my cousin Dakota. *shakes head* mayhap it's time for a career change. I'll keep you posted.

I found out my mom has actually booked time to come down for my 30th in November. Totally excited am I!! I mentioned to her that our couch wasn't too comfy and that maybe we'd go out to Mission. She totally thought I was going to send her out by herself to stay with MyLuc's 'rents. It took a few minutes but now she knows I'll go with her.

*HUGE HUGS* More later...
