Thanks to Bananarants for this "itsa thinker" quiz:

Pick 5 of the following and then complete the sentences. Then pass this little meme on to 3 more of your blog friends! But no tag backs! And be careful…you could be next!

If I could be a scientist…
If I could be a farmer…
If I could be a musician…
If I could be a doctor…
If I could be a painter…
If I could be a gardener…
If I could be a missionary…
If I could be a chef…
If I could be an architect…
If I could be a linguist…
If I could be a psychologist…
If I could be a librarian…
If I could be an athlete…
If I could be a lawyer…
If I could be an inn-keeper…
If I could be a professor…
If I could be a writer…
If I could be a llama-rider…
If I could be a bonnie pirate…
If I could be an astronaut…
If I could be a world famous blogger…
If I could be a justice on any one court in the world…
If I could be married to any current famous political figure…

Any my answers are:

If I could be a farmer...I would study the geography and climates of the world and create a variety of food stuffs that could grow anywhere and everywhere and noone would ever go hungry.

If I could be a musician…I would learn to play all types of instruments from all differnt cultures and I would create the type of music that makes you think of love, fun and laughter.

If I could be a chef…I would create the most wonderful, mouthwatering, salivatory (I don't think that's a word) dishes with ingredients that are unique and o'course tasty.

If I could be a lawyer…I would make sure that I treat my secretary/assistant very, very well as they do most of the paperwork and contact work with the client when I am on the phone making more contacts and creating the paperwork.

If I could be a bonnie pirate…I would borrow my name from The Folk Heroes, the Folk Band I used to play bodhran for, I'd switch it up and I'd be the "Wench of Wonder" of the seas and like Robin of Locksley would rob from the rich and give to the poor.

*Phew* Bananarants was right. It was tough choosing and then almost as tough to figure out what to write.

Hope you have a good time with this "thinker".

Quote of the Day: I’ve always worried a lot and frankly I’m good at it. E. Bombeck

Me too. It's something I do and something that will prolly never stop.

MyLuc and I have decided not to have children. We talked and talked about pros and cons and the future and decided that this is for the best.

I decided when I was 16 that I didn't want to be a mom. For a variety of reasons, I didn't want to treat my kids like I had been treated, there were too many children in the world already that needed love, I'd rather be an aunt....and the list continues.

I had decided that if ever I had a partner and he wanted kids I wouldn't dissuade him but I woudl think long and hard if I could compromise on my decision.

I thank the lord and the stars and whatever else I deem needs to be thanked that I have myLuc. He's not a kid guy and understands my reasoning. I didn't have to make a choice.

We've talked about getting surgery (for either of us) and the pros and cons and o'course how we wouldn't have to pay for birth control pills or condoms.

I had an appointment with a Gynocologist the other day to discuss my options and alternative methods and such. It went very well and I decided on Depo-Provera. It is a shot that lasts for three months and then you get another and so on and so forth. We talked about the pros and cons and everything else that I could think of to ask. What about weight gain? What about the variety of side effects that introducing a "poison" into your system has? How effective.

I chose this method for the simple reason that I don't want to have day surgery to have either a cauterization done or a metal band placed over my ovaries. That is the next step if I don't think this is working or is right for me but for now I'll try it out.

I don't want to worry about missing a pill or after getting all hot and heavy and forgetting the condom (which doesn't happen often) worrying about the consequences. MyLuc talked about the "what if" and about answers and we'd deal if it happened but we prayed that it didn't.

I have enough worry in my life and now I feel that a little of the load I carry is off. I mean, I know that 1 of 3 out of 1000 get pregnant with the shot. I actually met one of them at the office. I pray I'm not #2 or #3 but hey, if I am so be it. I'll deal. We'll deal.

I telephoned a good friend of mine, one of my bests and she started to freak out. I guess this is a high hazard for causing osteoporosis and so on and so forth. I explained to her that I had spoken with the doctor and he had explained the pros and cons and yes, this was one of them. She didn't understand why I chose this method. I got a little upset. I mean, it is my and myLuc's choice and I don't want to be on any birth control pill any longer and jeesh, she's a 28 year old virgin.

I totally don't hold that against her, it's her choice but with all choices comes consequences and if in a few years I develop osteoporosis and become ill I will stop using the shot but until that time, this is my choice.

*Phew* Now did I tell her that. Nope. Kept it to myself cuz I didn't want to anger her. That's me.

Quote of the day: "There can not be a stressful crisis next week. My schedule is already full"

True enough.

Monday was okay. Felt kinda blah but got through the day. Went home, made dinner. Grilled some sweet potatoes and yams on my grill in a little butter. Mmmmmmmmm. Good stuff. Watched some Season 2 Corner Gas and then went to bed.

Woke in the middle of the night with a horrid headache and a sore throat.

Tuesday didn't go to work. I just wanted to "lay like broccoli". So I did. I got up once or twice to go to the bathroom but that's the most I moved until 1 or so. Tried to get the motivation to do the dishes, did and even dried them. Slept for 1/2 hour. Got the umph to clean the bathroom, did. Slept til 4 when MyLuc got home from work. I just was feeling horrid and didn't want to move.

Wednesday should not have come to work but I did. Even early. Was here for 745 working most of the day for my female lawyer doing "leave letters" as she is leaving our firm to work for the government at the end of the month. My throat was sore, circulated an email saying I wasn't going to answer the phones or talk. I didn't. My male lawyer, hmmmm he needs a nick....let me work on it. I didn't leave the office til 830 or so cuz of a submission that he really really wanted me to handle. It's great to be wanted by c'mon now. He didn't even buy me dinner. I think I'm going to make that a requirement if I stay. I was home by 915 or so. Watched an episode of SEason 2 of Corner Gas even though MyLuc gave me permission to watch Buffy. Went to bed.

And that brings us to today. It's Thursday, 05/05/05 Pretty cool. And if you add'em up it equals six which is a good even number. Makes me almost want to purchase 5 more Super 7 tickets just cuz. (Yup, I italicized it. I do all kinds of thing just cuz and they should be bolded cuz they're too fun. A Just Cuz in June sounds about right!) The day looks like it could be somethin that I could survive. Feeling better although my throat is still a little sore. I can actually talk today...could be either a good thing or a bad thing.

Plans for Friday - Nada. Prolly do laundry.

Plans for Saturday - Nada. Prolly do the laundry that I didn't do Friday.

Plans for Sunday - Out to MyLuc's 'rents for a Mother's Day dinner of Steak. (Not like Myluc doesn't eat enough of it as is!)

Hope this week has treated y'all well and that the weekend will be a funfilled good one!

Thought of the Day: It's true, have free food available and people will come outta the woodwork.

Saturday, myLuc and our friend Shawnna and her roommate Jen attended Eat!Vancouver
Saturday morning I donned my crowd gear. I like to be seen so that if I wander away (which happens often) I can be spotted easily. Red Tank Top, Red "Canadian Girls Kick Ass" Ballcap, Khaki capris and red, yellow, blue, gree, orange purple and blue striped socks. Although to be honest I'm sure my peeps wouldn't get down on the floor to check out everyone's socks to try to find me but hey, I like colour what can I say. So myLuc and I left about 10 Saturday morning, walked to the skytrain.

We got to BC Place about 11 and the lineup was out the door. The smells coming out of BC Place were totally mouthwatering and o'course MyLuc and I had had a little breakfast in case there wasn't anything to eat.

So we headed in, we each received a Food Network bag with the new "Glad Easy Seal" or something like that and walked the gauntlet into the bowels of BC Place. The first thing you noticed was the people, the second was the food smells. All kinds, Indian, Asian, Jamaican, Canadian, BBQ sauce, Pork, Salmon, Garlic..... We noticed that each table had "Taste Tickets" with a certain number 1 or 2. So I ended up buying us taste tickets as well. 20 tickets for $12.

We decided to head left to begin with, I know I know, everyone heads left. *sigh*

There was so much that to describe it I'd be posting for quite a long while and as I post this between dictation tapes from my lawyers you'll only get a little bit.

There were free samples of almost everything along with people in lines to follow up and down the rows so that they could be ensured of getting a free sample. We had like 6 cups of little coffee as the people were either trying to sell their expresso machines or the coffee mate and then garlic, garlic spread, garlic butter, salmon candy, wild salmon, farm salmon, cooking vinegars, chai teas, pasta, pineapple, chocolate, toffee, jellies, curries...I could go on and on.

I ended up buying some wine jelly. I can't recall the name right now but it's like a chardonnay or shiraz or something. Very very tasty.

I also bought a Cobb Grill/BBQ (Cobb /Grills) The salesman was very very good and we all ended up walked away from the stand and then discussing it. MyLuc, Shawnna and I all attend a lot of SCA camping event and it would be quite the thing. You only need 6-8 briquettes, it's only 12lbs, comes with a carrying case, grill and the Eat!Vancouver special was $233 for all that plus a skillet and frying pan.

Yeah I know I know, did I really think it through. Let me tell ya, I used it on Tuesday to make Kebabs and it's Da Bomb! It worked awesome and I'm totally trying to find new grilling recipes.

I totally recommend this event for everyone who likes to eat, cook, drink (cuz yes there was a wine tasting, beer tasting, sake tasting (Myluc was there), cooler tasting) and just overall have a good time.

I hope that your week hasn't been too horrid and I'll post the Wednesday "Administrative Professionals Day" adventures later.
