Long time no hear eh!?!
I have been off work for two weeks now and am so totally bored outta my gourd. For someone who can't read a book when she once read two a day and now can only sit and watch DVD's....*sigh* I try and surf and keep up with my friends and their blogs but....it's hard work when someone who is extremely right handed cannot use it at all and what's that saying the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. So true, my left has been on vacation and is now like "WTF!"
I wend to a clinic and they told me that I had some 28 letter "itis" word that basically the tendons in my thumb and wrist had swollen my tendon tunnel and there was no liquid going through. Buy a wrist brace with a thumb splint and have some antiinflammatories and go to work. So I did. The pain was horrid. It felt like there were cold compresses on my arm all the time and the 50$ wrist brace held my arm and thumb but I have itsy bitsy wrists so there was movement. So frustrating and painful.
Survived Saturday and Sunday by having myLuc harass me cuz if I don't get better soon he'll have to go see Dr. Bishop cuz of his back. My poor man has to do dishes cuz I can't and he whines...gawd....
Monday last I had an appointment with our family doctor, Dr. Bishop, and he took off the splint and turned my arm this way and that, pressed here and there and voila! I have something called Cellulitis. The only cure is no movement, rest and a dual acting penicilin. No working, rest, see the doc every day.
Tuesday I went to work in the morning to give my no work form to our HR person and then to the doctor. Tried typing but left hand only 30 words so doesn't cut it when you can do 110. Cancelled on my girly girl cuz if I wasn't s'posed to move then going out with her prolly wouldn't have been a good idea.
Wednesday, doctor and like 10 dvds. We had smokies for dinner cuz I could handle the tongs but myLuc had to cut up the fixings cuz I couldn't use a knife.
Thursday, sooo bored. Thought, my arm doesn't hurt that bad I'll do dishes. Stupid freaking girl I am. We did a pork roast on the Cobb. Took forever but was good.
Friday went to the doctor and he turned my arm this way and that way and poked it here and there and well...sooo much pain afterwards. He said to massage my hand, arm and chest with olive oil to get the poison moving. Great idea. Hurts like Hades but I'll do it in order to get better. Myluc and I went and rented a whack of DVD's and his suggestion was if I was going to be off work we should rent a whack. So we did. I even got the first season of Punk'd with Ashton Kutcher (MyLuc groaned and thanked whomever that he didn't have to stay home with me).
Saturday, myLuc and I went to find kittens. Yep, we're on the search for two medium to long hair kittens, preferably from the same litter and not black and white. If you've known Trigger you know why. Groceries and liquor store run. My girly girl came over and we three drank a whack of Sangria, had steak, myLuc's staple meal, watched the 2004 version of the Stepford Wives and Starsky and Hutch and then off she went.
Sunday, myLuc and I had said yes to an SCA Eisemarche Demo in Vancouver and so we geared up and off we went. It rained and rained and as MyLuc's SCA name is Noah....let's just say it was pretty damn funny. Although it was wet and miserable I think we did the Safeway a good thank you with dancing and some fighting and a presentation of a framed scroll as a thank you for their donations to events over the years. Home myLuc and I went, hot showers, leftovers and some movies. Little Black Book was just stupidly weird. I like Brittany Murphy but this was a little odd. Fun but odd.
And here I am now...Monday. I started this blog entry at 730 and am now done. Typing with one hand totally sucks and o'course I apologize for any misspellings and errors. I am waiting for my appointment this non-rainy Monday to go to the doctors and then to the grocery store to pick up some milk and then home. It so sucks being "ill".
*HUGE HUGES* Hope y'all are doing well...TTYL.

That sounds like no fun at all, eventhough you get a 'vacation' along with it. Hope you are feeling all better soon! *hugs*
